The Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen launched the campaign - Darwaza Band Part Two, which focuses on sustaining the open defecation free status of villages across the country and has been supported by the World Bank. The campaign, produced by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, was launched in Mumbai in the presence Amitabh Bachchan, Babanrao Lonikar, Maharashtra's Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation, Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and other dignitaries and representatives of the Mission's development partners. Door-to-door garbage collection in Noida

Noida Authority's door-to-door garbage collection kicked off from five sectors - 14, 14-A, 49, 137, 50 and Aghapur village, and collected more than 20 tonnes of waste. Around 15 tonnes of garbage were collected from the residential areas and five tonnes from the compactor placed at the garbage collection point in Sector 49. The garbage collection was carried out by AG Enviro Projects Private Limited on the request of Noida Authority, having bagged a ten-year contract for Rs 306 crore.
According to the authority officials, 167 big and small vehicles will be used to collect garbage from residential colonies, high rises,markets, hotels, malls and other places.
