Researchers at the University of Jaen (Spain) have mixed waste from the paper industry with ceramic material used in the construction industry to produce bricks. The cellulose from the paper industry and the ceramic are mixed together and passed through a pressure and extrusion machine to obtain bricks. These bricks contain organic matter and take less time in the kiln thus, conserving energy spend in generating them. The addition of waste materials enables the end product to have low thermal conductivity and it makes the bricks a good insulator
