Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is constructing a Sewage Pumping Station envisaged at Rs1.96 crore to address the serious urban problem of accumulating sewage water in the low-lying areas of the city. The SPS is coming up at Vadiwadi adjoining Alkapuri area of the city near the Sardarbaug Swimming Pool.
Accumulated sewage water has been entering into the swimming pool and nearby low-lying pockets of the city creating serious health hazards and posing sanitation problems. The SPS would reduce the pressure and load of sewage line from Genda Circle to BPC Road. It will also solve multiple sanitation problems in Alkapuri.
