Bangalore based innovator Suren Vikash has developed a solar-powered eco-friendly bag, which is 85% upcycled, made from waste rubber tyres and can be used to charge mobile phones and iPads on the go. Having been introduced on World Environment Day, the bag is fitted with a 6-watt solar panel and a 5,500 mAh battery, which charges when exposed to sunlight. One hour of direct sunlight charges a mobile phone for one hour talk time. The idea behind the concept is that using waste as rich raw material in innovative applications reduces exploitation of natural resources.
