The Minister told the newspersons that a 15-strong force of sanitary workers have been deputed to clean plastic wastes, garbage and filth that litter the municipal district and also sanitize all stagnant pools of water, drains and rubbish-dumps.

Vijayabaskar said self-help groups have also been urged to come forward in carrying out cleaning operations by collecting plastic-waste, garbage and other house-hold refuge. The Chairman of the local municipality would be inspecting this massive cleanliness drive.
