Tenon Group makes ESG commitments

Also conducts tree plantation drive for Environment Day

Tenon Group celebrated World Environment Day throughout the week with various green initiatives. The Group partnered with an e-NGO, SankalpTaru Foundation for a community-based plantation programme and hosted a tree plantation drive at Panchgaon, Manesar district of Gurugram, Haryana.

“Tenon Group has planted 100 trees, and we are going to track the growth and maintenance of these trees. We have also pledged to plant trees every time we onboard a new client or a new employee. It is a part of our ESG commitment aimed at building a sustainable tomorrow.

Planting trees is a great step toward environmental sustainability, but the real challenge is to ensure that all the trees planted grow amidst the adverse climate conditions. Hence, we chose to work with an organisation that can help us look after those trees. SankalpTaru uses geo-tagging and other advanced environmental techniques in order to make it easier for us to track our planted trees. It is a 3-year long association and we will extend whatever support is required to look after them” said Angad Rajain, Global CSO, Tenon Group of Companies.

More than 80 employees volunteered to plant trees of various species, taking the resolve to save #OnlyOneEarth, which was also the theme of this year’s environment day. The Group also conducted an environmental awareness drive throughout the week ahead of Environment Day at a grass-root level where the security and facility personnel were seen making a strong call to action against climate change, plastic pollution, GHG emissions, etc.

This year, the ₹1800+ crore Tenon Group has solidified its ESG commitments and targets to go green by investing in GHG reduction programs & strategies and conducting carbon footprint audits, energy, and environmental audits. It also aims to completely replace its cleaning chemicals with mild and environment-friendly cleaning solutions by 2030, reduce the consumption of water and plastic across FM operations, and convert its entire fleet into electric vehicles by 2040. The Group is also exploring the sources of renewable energy which could reduce carbon emissions by 25% at its corporate office in India, followed by regional offices in India and the UK.

Tenon Group has recently been rated on sustainability parameters such as sustainable procurement, environment study and carbon audit by ECOVADIS, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. It was also awarded the Best Governance Award by Money Control Pro at the Indian Family Business Awards 2021.
