Technopark e-waste collection systems

In the past four years, Technopark campus in Thiruvanathapuram has had a system for collecting e-waste. Every three months the Central Pollution Control Board collects waste from companies operating within the park and transports it to a processing centre at Kancheepuram.

The agency is paid 44 for a kilogramme of e-waste, “We encourage companies to maximise the use of computers by upgrading the machines. Each upgrade extends the life of a computer by about three years,” said Azeeb, IT engineer, Technopark.
