Doctors who have spent decades helping their hospitals achieve the highest level of sterility spoke about the economic effects of hospitalacquired illness on hospitals, quality assurance in infection control, how manpower influences the level of cleanliness achieved and how protocols should be designed to meet such targets. Speakers also explained how the quality of hospital linen has a huge role to play in preventing hospital-acquired infections in wards and operation theatres. Some of the pre-eminent delegates who delineated how hospital infection levels can be monitored were Dr. Manish Mattoo, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore and Dr. Dhruv K Mamtora, Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Control officer, S. L. Raheja-Fortis Associate Hospital, Mumbai.
