Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2021 launched

17,475 villages in 698 districts will be covered

The Centre’s ambitious Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2021 under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase -II (SBM(G)) was launched by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) recently.

The DDWS will undertake Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2021 countrywide to support acceleration of Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus interventions and increase momentum for improving ODF Sustainability as well as Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) activities across the villages in the country.

DDWS had commissioned Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) in 2018 and 2019 too.

The ministry said 17,475 villages in 698 districts of the country will be covered by the Swachh Survekshan Grameen. Around 87,250 public places, such as schools, Anganwadi centres, public health centres, markets, religious places will be visited for the survey, it said.

Around 1,74,750 households will be interviewed for their feedback on Swachh Bharat Mission-related issues. Citizens will be mobilised to provide feedback online on sanitation issues.
