Every winter, thousands of tourists and skiers visiting Gulmarg and Tanmarg in Kashmir, litter the place. Recently, 150 tourists and skiers joined hands to clean about 13km in the mountain slopes ridden with garbage, plastic bottles and other solid waste. The local Right Hand Ski Teachers’ Association, which initiated the clean drive, sent 10 skiers of Gulmarg to Goa, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal to study how the authorities and private players there maintain the environment.
