Rentokil Initial Hygiene – Virus Killer

by Clean India Journal - Editor

UV-C technology to kill Coronavirus in the Air

The VIRUSKILLER™ VK401 is an Air Hygiene innovation by Rentokil Initial Hygiene designed to kill coronavirus in the air*. The technology uses a series of filters and patented UV reactor chambers to kill 99.9999% of pathogens with a single air pass.

Alongside a triple filtration system, the innovative VIRUSKILLER™ uses patented ultraviolet-C (UV-C) lamps, surrounded by nano titanium dioxide tube filters that are polished with activated carbon. The emitted UV light reacts with the mesh, and in a process called ‘photocatalytic oxidation’ produces hydroxyl radicals, which act as a disinfectant and break down the organic molecules.

This all-in-one solution effectively filters dirty air, neutralises toxic air, and decontaminates sick air. The UV-C technology provides a photochemical deconstruction of the RNA and DNA of microorganisms. It has a combination of pre filter+carbon filter+HEPA filter+powerful UV-C lamp and TiO2 hexagon filters.

The VK 401 is designed to control the airflow in a mid-sized room of 60m2 with the full power of VIRUSKILLER™ real-time protection. The VK 401 can be placed freestanding on a surface or shelf, or wall-mounted to free up valuable floor space.

*When independently tested against Coronavirus DF2 (a surrogate for Coronavirus), Adenovirus, Influenza, and Polio, the unit was found to kill 99.9999% of viruses on a single air pass.

Applications

The VK401 is suitable for critical environments and larger spaces such as classrooms, public areas, wards, offices, hotel lobbies and rooms, waiting rooms, conference rooms, restaurants, commercial spaces, hospitals and medical institutes, laboratories, reception and washrooms. The product is available for direct purchase and also on rental basis. It comes with one year warranty.
