North Delhi Municipal Corporation has discontinued outsourcing of street sweeping and cleaning of toilet complexes & urinals in five zones under the North Corporation, owing to increasing complaints.
According to Yogendra Singh, PRO, NDMC, 100km of roads were being handled by private firms and the rest 80km by the Corporation itself. Despite imposing heavy penalty on private companies, the Corporation saw no sign of improvement, hence decided to get the cleaning done with in-house staff.
