Moti Bagh gets green certification

New Delhi’s Moti Bagh residential colony which supplies 100,000 litres of treated water daily to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NMDC) has been given Green Homes Certification by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The colony efficiently utilizes water and energy (solar energy). Moti Bagh has almost 60% of the land under green area. The colony has a functional SWM plant that recycles bio degradable waste into fuel and compost.

The residential colony spread over 105 acres has solar system for powering 50% of the streetlights and heating system of nearly 500 flats and wastewater management plant. During redevelopment, the roads were developed and designed causing no damage to the existing trees, of which 10% are fruit bearing ones. In addition, 4,156 more were planted in and around the complex.
