The First Edition of
Clean Middle East Pulire 2012 exceeds expectations

Organized by VIS Exhibitions & Conferences, a subsidiary of Virtual Info Systems Pvt Ltd, organizer of Clean India Show, and Afidamp Servizi srl

The three day International Cleaning Expo held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 27-29 saw visitors from all the sectors like hospitals, government departments, retail, infrastructure and facility management. Majority of exhibitors (UAE, Italy, USA, Germany, Austria, China, Spain, Hong Kong, the UK, India and Pakistan) stated that their objectives for participation were met with and they have had quality visitors all three days.

Talking to Clean India Journal, H E Eng. Hussein Lootah, Director General, Dubai Municipality who also inaugurated the Expo stated, “Shows like CMEP are very important. We get to see a lot of companies here from all over the world with different types of equipment. Dubai is known to be very clean and green and we are keen to maintain it that way all the way. Therefore, we are always looking for some of these equipment and solutions and also ensuring that the material used is environmental friendly.” He was accompanied by senior officials from the Dubai Municipality.

“In Dubai there are a lot of special equipment and machines used. We are looking at different ways to stop people from littering the streets to maintain the cleanliness. It is important for us to also educate the people so that they can cooperate with us to keep Dubai clean.” he added.

CMEP is the only regional platform dedicated to bringing together international players from the global cleaning and hygiene industry. The Expo showcased over 250 products, technologies and processes in tune with the current global need for a clean environment and healthy work places.

“Perhaps this is the first time that an Indian company is part of organizing a trade show in World Trade Centre, Dubai,” said Jayaraman Nair, Chairman, VIS. “ The show has been very good in terms of exhibitors and visitors.”

Said J P Nair, Managing Director, VIS, “The GCC is growing rapidly in terms of Infrastructure and sectors like hotels and healthcare. The increase in demand for professional cleaning has been visible at the Expo”.

The highlights of the Expo has been the three day seminar on healthcare hygiene, housekeeping in hotels and a special full day session for the service provider. In an encouraging move, UAE Professional Housekeepers Group which supported the event, joined hand with CMEP in announcing awards for Excellence in Housekeeping. Over a gala dinner at the venue, awards for the best room attendants were presented to Winner Gamini Thilakasari of AI Bustan Rotana and runner up Vinith Kumar Bangera of Movenpick Hotel Diera.
