BBMP to double the fine for not sorting the garbage

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to fine the citizens for not sorting the garbage as per the segregation guidelines issued by the corporation. The penalty will be increased from existing Rs. 500 to Rs 1,000 for establishments and individuals who fail the waste at their premises. Also BBMP will also file a case against the repeat violators in order to take the initiative at large scale.         

BBMP also launched 10 mobile vans, carrying a message on benefits of waste segregation, will make rounds across various areas to create awareness about waste segregation among citizens.
