Challenge in meeting cleaning standards
The first and foremost challenge is in getting the skilled manpower for housekeeping and we are facing a shortage. Secondly, there is a lack of awareness of the importance of hygiene. Application of right cleaning agents based on varied surface is equally challenges. Each surface is unique and requires to be treated accordingly. There are several cleaning agents and wood, tile, carpet… all have to be treated with the right chemical. It is only then the maintenance of the hotel property can be according to set standards.

The feasibility of meeting cleaning standards also depends on the supplier of products. The housekeeper should be well versed with the type of surfaces and their maintenance need. It is only then the housekeeper can acquire the right quality products for right surface. Thus, supplier component plays a vital role not only in cleaning, rather maintenance of hotel’s valuable property. Supplier components and their approach to provide quality cleaning chemicals/equipment at good pricing and favourable terms are satisfactory.
Experience with staff and how many are engaged in housekeeping
Definitely, trained staff is an asset to any property for delivering cleaning standards and personalized care. Regular training is being provided to our staff on cleaning procedures. Presently, we have 34 regular staff engaged in housekeeping.
