North Central Railway to outsource mechanised cleaning

North Central Railway is planning to outsource mechanized cleaning of coaches, carriage watering and depot cleaning at Agra Fort coaching depot on turnkey basis for a period of three years.
S K Sagar, Sr Divisional Mechanical Engineer, C & W, Agra told Clean India Journal, “Agra division is a very small division and has a small set up in terms of work load, as we only have two trains. Railway Board Directorate has issued directions to include mechanised cleaning for 30 to 32 coaches, which will be cleaned on a daily basis.” The job was earlier done manually through local contractors.
