Tata Motors recently donated two garbage collection vans to the holy town of Vrindavan to clean up the garbage and sewage waste. Cleaner Tracks
In a bid to get rid of manual scavenging on railway tracks, bio-toilets have been installed in 50 coaches of various trains. These bio-toilets retain the human waste in the tank. Different types of nonpathogenic bacteria strains are injected in these tanks. The bacteria digest the human waste and help produce harmless gas and water.
Clean-up Marshals
If everything goes fine, Mumbai will soon have clean-up marshals again. However, this time the contract would be given to women self-help groups in one or two wards.
