Cannon Hygiene (India) bags Global Excellence Award

Cannon Hygiene (India), the washroom hygiene vertical of OCS International Facilities Management Services, repeated its performance of the previous year, achieving the award for “Global Excellence” presented at the recently concluded Global Cannon conference at Dublin, Ireland. Cannon offers Washroom Hygiene Services in 40 countries across the globe. Speaking to Clean India Journal, Prashant Sule, Managing Director of Cannon Hygiene (India) Pvt. Ltd, said “This recognition on a global platform is a clear indication of the growing awareness and demand for hygiene solutions, especially in the area of Feminine Hygiene, in the country.”

With 13 branches across the country, Cannon Hygiene’s feminine hygiene solution has been growing at around 60%. It is poised to launch its operations in Gujarat soon. The scope of the services offered covers a complete solution to washroom hygiene and the clientele includes various industries, IT, education, hospitals, hotels, BPOs, banks and any and all commercial establishments employing a large work force especially women. “Washroom Hygiene issues have been a taboo for discussions and it is only recently that it is being viewed as a major component of employee welfare. There is a need for environmental Health and Safety Department to focus on this issue especially on feminine hygiene care.

“We have come a long way in educating the HR managers, Environmental Health and safety managers and Staff welfare managers as well as Managing directors and CEOs of large organisations. Currently they are well accepted and these heads of institutions are happy to provide these solutions for the safety and welfare of their women employees.”

Cannon is planning to enter into educational institutions – girls’ schools and universities – this year, and also hospitals especially nursing quarters. Since Canon Hygiene is a joint venture with PCI, it can leverage the pan India reach of the latter and service tire two and tire three cities as well.

There are currently 12 service stations across the country – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Vadodara and plan to double the numbers this year.

The other hygiene solutions offered by Canon are urinal sanitizers which are anti-scalers, anti-cloggers, disinfectants and fragrance providers without aerosols and aerosol fragrance units with zero volatile organic compounds (VOC).

The most important subject is the Feminine Hygiene Care service because Cannon is the only service provider in the country that exchanges the complete unit and does not use a plastic liner (which adds to the environmental mess) and sanitises the collection unit after every use. Also the germicide used is a very powerful germicide made of natural oils thus being eco-friendly and works on vapours thus reaching the last pad disposed in the unit. It is certified to kill any virus (including HIV and Hepatitis

B and C), bacteria and micro organism to 99.999% – a five log drop, thus bringing the level of bacteria to a below infectious level dose. Cannon can challenge any other service provider who would claim to do the same.
